Listings Project: Social Media Animations
The client
Listings Project is a platform that connects people with vetted housing and job opportunities in their area. In their own words, they are “a global community offering free and equitable access to carefully vetted real estate and job opportunities.”
Their positioning line is Find your place. Find your people.
The brief
A second commission, this time focused on social media. Listings Project needed motion content and a new set of icons for their channels
The result
Animated loops built around moments that brings people together. A hand holding a keyring of New York and Los Angeles charms. A speech bubble with a heart at its centre. Two people hanging a framed picture as a cat watches from the floor. Two friends sharing a close embrace.
Alongside the animations, I illustrated a new icon set featuring houses, keys, city blocks and landmarks. Each icon was designed to work as part of a cohesive family at any size, from an app thumbnail to a social post.
What made this interesting
The two keyring animations were the most interesting problem. Same hand, same framing, different city: close enough to read as a pair, different enough that each is clearly its own place.
